For those who deserve the best, the MDC V3 HCRI flashlight has beautiful, no-compromise beam quality and rock solid reliability. It is simple to operate, well made. Nice enough to wear in a suit, tough enough to bring to a job site, and so reliable you don't need to have a second flashlight.

We made it small and lightweight, but still sized for real hands and real work. With the MDC's high efficiency light engine, a single battery can take you from dusk til dawn. We equipped it with specialty emitters made for color sensitive applications so you can see as well as daylight.

It has a 3 lumen low, making it better for discreet use with an astonishing 100+ hours of runtime; high is an honest 700 lumens for about 20 minutes on the same great interchangeable Li-ion 14500 cells.

It's also newly field configurable, allowing you to select from 7 different presets that include high first/only or eliminating that pesky level you never ever use.

The Malkoff MDC HCRI is designed for extreme reliability in a lightweight and compact footprint. Classically overbuilt but re-imagined for modern times, the MDC HCRI is proudly made in the USA by Gene Malkoff and his small team who are trusted by law enforcement, military, and civilians in dark places around the world.

Using the industry leading Nichia 519a emitter, the MDC HCRI offers full spectrum light (Ra 98) and boasts an incredible red spectrum (R9 80+) while also guaranteeing a generally pleasant tint. No more tint lottery.

With three output levels and 700 lumens max, the MDC HCRI shines a ray of light that slices through darkness and offers near sunlight quality color rendition while keeping enough in reserve for you to get home on a single battery. There is no step down on high, so the MDC HCRI will continue blasting its maximum 700 lumens or as near to it as the battery can sustain.

The MDC HCRI is equipped with a sturdy pocket clip and has a new upgraded tapered half knurled body for easier pocket ingress and egress. We're also proudly using the new Malkoff buck driver for improved power efficiency. All of the flashlight electronics are potted for water and impact resistance and the only wear item (the switch) is designed to be user serviceable with the industry standard McClicky.

This flashlight is powered by a 14500 lithium ion cell (not included). Almost all 14500 cells fit including most protected, unprotected, flat top, or button top batteries. Many USB batteries work as well.

The full spectrum emitter is paired with a McR-series reflector. Legendary flashlight maker, Don McLeish, better known as McGizmo, designed the reflector not to waste a single lumen outside the range of human vision. Unlike many ultra-high lumen lights which blast photons scattershot, the McR directs every last photon into an optimal cone for foveal, central and mid-peripheral vision, beyond which light is considered wasted for most users. In the real world, you get an aesthetically pleasing beam tuned for color and detail discrimination, situational awareness, and depth perception.

**PROGRAMMING THE LIGHT**

- The light is programmed using a series of short and long button presses. 
- A short button press is a short momentary (<0.5 second) button press that **DOES** **NOT** latch/click the switch.
- A long button press is a long (>0.5 second) button press. In most cases latching the switch is not necessary.
- To enter Programming Mode perform 20 short button presses. It is not necessary to count or be exact. Simply perform short presses until the light begins to fast strobe.
- At this time hold a long button press. The light will fast strobe for approximately 5 seconds.
- After the strobe, the light will flash at 2 second intervals.
- **Count the number of flashes and release the button when the desired mode group number(flashes) is reached.** 
- Releasing the the button during the fast strobe will reset to default (L-M-H).

**PROGRAMMING EXAMPLE**

- To make your light single mode high only.
- Short press until the light starts strobing.
- Hold the press. Once the strobing stops - Release the button after the 4th flash.
